We received the below message from one of our deployed Troops:
“Dear Hearts to Heroes team, I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Staff Sergeant xxxxxxxx, and I am writing to you on behalf of my platoon, lovingly nicknamed “Vermin,” as part of the xxxxxxxx currently deployed in the xxxxxxxx. One of the challenges that we face during our deployment is maintaining a sense of unity and morale. In the states, many of us found solace, peace, and connection through participating in praise and worship activities. We are attempting to recreate this meaningful part of our lives here in the xxxxxxxx. With a handful of musically talented individuals, we have begun to form a worship group. We have managed to acquire an electric piano, but our vision for a full worship band necessitates a few additional instruments. In particular, we are seeking an acoustic guitar, an acoustic bass, and, if possible, harmonica-like instruments. We believe that these instruments will not only facilitate our praise and worship sessions but also contribute to boosting our unit’s morale, reinforcing camaraderie, and providing a comforting reminder of home in this far-flung part of the world. I understand that Hearts to Heroes has been a pillar of support for deployed military troops, extending help through thoughtful care packages, including musical instruments. Therefore, I am humbly reaching out to inquire if there is any way Hearts to Heroes could assist us in achieving our goal. We greatly appreciate the noble work you do and any assistance you may be able to offer our humble worship group. Please feel free to reach out if you require any additional information or if there’s anything we could do to facilitate this request. #460 (Guitar) and #461 (Harmonicas – 4) were shipped to our Troops on Tuesday, 17 Oct 2023 and #467 (Acoustic Bass) was shipped on Tuesday, 31 Oct 2023!
