UPDATE: #425 (red electric guitar) was shipped to our Troops yesterday, 5 Jan 23, and #426 (black & white electric guitar) was shipped to our Troops this afternoon!
We received the below message from one of our deployed Troops:
“Good day! I’m SGT xxxxxxxx. I’m stationed at xxxxxxxx with the xxxxxxxx, I am currently deployed out in xxxxxxxx under the xxxxxxxx. I was looking for communities that donate instruments to soldiers that are deployed. We are in a small FOS (forward operating site) that we’re currently building up to be an operational base one day. I was wondering if y’all are still donating instruments and if you could donate a few instruments this way? We have a couple MWR tents that Soldiers hangout in that I’d love to put some instruments in each for them to play! Thank you for your time! Hope to hear back soon! Very respectfully,”
Hearts to Heroes Message to Troop: “Hi xxxxxxxx! It’s great hearing from you! What type of instruments are you interested in?”
Message From Troop: “Hello! Well, I was thinking maybe a couple ukuleles and guitars. What other instruments do you have? Great hearing from you!”
Hearts to Heroes Message to Troop: “I have some items that I will need to order before we can send you the (2) guitars and (2) ukuleles. Once I receive everything, I will contact you before I ship them to be sure there are no changes. I have two electric guitars with amplifiers. If you are interested in those, please let me know.”
Message From Troop: “If you could donate those two electric guitars and amplifiers as well, we would be SUPER appreciative of that! I’ll split the instruments evenly between both lounges. They’re in two different camps about a ten-minute walk from each other and we have soldiers living in tents by each lounge. So, I know all these instruments would be put to good use!”

“Good afternoon Ma’am, My name is xxxxxxxx and this program was recommended to me by a Solider in my unit. We are currently deployed and it can be mentally draining. I picked up the guitar while here and I have loved it since. Unfortunately, the instruments here get broken very easily so it is not always easy to find other distractions besides the guitar. I would absolutely love to have a guitar that I can take care of and play music without the worry of if it is broken or not. Thank you for your time, all you do, and for considering me. Very Respectfully,”
