We received the following message from one of our deployed Chaplains:

“Good morning Myra, My name is xxxxxxxx. I am the Chaplain for xxxxxxxx. We are stationed in xxxxxxxx. I commissioned less than a year ago in the Navy and I have been with xxxxxxxx for the last six months. During this time, it has come to my attention that my unit is the most deployed unit in the DoD. I have 350+ Marines/Sailors attached with us and currently we are on our second deployment this year. I ran across your non-profit company after following a link on a Chaplain Corps FB post. I don’t know if it is due to our high turnover at xxxxxxxx, but there have been no care packages that xxxxxxxx has received in the three years that my commanding officer has been here. I was curious, for my Marines and Sailors sake, if there was a way to put them on a list that when something becomes available, you would have my point of contact. Also, I read the article on your website about Mickey and Bill about them repairing guitars. I play guitar and during my first PCS move from NYC to xxxxxxxx, my guitar did not arrive. I am unable to play guitar for my church services nor am I able to teach guitar to those who would like to learn. I was curious if there were guitars that were able to be shipped to xxxxxxxx, for donation or for sale. I am on a budget, as I would not be able to receive unit funds to pay for them, I would have to buy it myself. I hope this email finds you well and I look forward to hearing from you and your company soon. Thank you for your ministry of service to our troops. Blessings, Very Respectfully,”

#286 was shipped to our deployed Chaplain this afternoon!

This guitar was donated in honor of John Vasquez, Sr., Vietnam Veteran, by his family!
